800 Lane County volunteers pitch in for United Way’s Days of Caring service project

Volunteers across Lane County went to work this week for United Way of Lane County’s annual Days of Caring service project.

The 30th annual event saw 800 volunteers, including employees from PacificSource, The Pape Group, OCCU, Lane County and others take on service projects with 30 nonprofits in the area.

Projects included food harvesting, trail construction, building maintenance and gardening for local organizations such as FOOD For Lane County’s GrassRoots Garden, SMART Reading and the Black Cultural Initiative’s new Black Business Center.
