Youth Farm Stand
June 8 - October 16 | 10:00am - 2:00pm | Flamingo Avenue, off of South Game Farm Road in Springfield
FOOD For Lane County's Youth Farm produce stand will be open every Saturday from 10am-2pm, beginning June 12th. Strawberries, peas, lettuce and salad mix, spinach, cucumbers, carrots and much more are ripe and ready for sale. The stand will be open through mid-October. All proceeds from the produce sales benefit FFLC and the Youth Farm program. Low-income teens, ages 14-18 participate all summer long in the growing of over 35 different kinds of fruits and vegetables. The majority of the farm's produce (over 92,000 pounds grown in 2010) is donated to FOOD for Lane County for distribution to agencies countywide to help alleviate hunger and poor nutrition. Youth-led tours of the farm site are also available. Come learn more about this amazing program and meet the young people who are creating healthy food and community.
Youth Farm Fest

Come out to the FOOD for Lane County Youth Farm for a fun filled day. In addition to the great organic produce offered every Saturday June through October, activities will include farm tours, face painting, pick your own flower bouquets, compost demonstrations, tomato tasting, and general merriment. Stop by and appreciate the hard work that the Youth Farm crew has put into learning new skills and growing vegetables all summer long. See you there!
