DESCRIPTION:Join the Compost Team – Michael of Growing Solutions\, with Emily Johnson and Rodney Bloom of Food for Lane County’s GrassRoots Gardens – for a compost tea workshop focusing on the benefits of fall compost tea application! \nThroughout the summer we have hosted a series of compost tea workshops with the Team to educate the community on its benefits and uses. The first workshop focused on the basics of compost tea\, how to make it and the various ways of applying it. The second workshop focused on the biology of the compost tea\, and we observed the different microorganisms in the tea under the microscope as they moved about. This is the third workshop in the series\, and will be focused on fall applications of compost tea. We will be touring the gardens as well for this workshop to observe how we use it and to give you ideas for your own garden! \nNo previous attendance at the first two compost tea workshops is necessary\, all are welcome! \nOur Compost Tea CSA purchases are available this day as well. DESCRIPTION:Get excited for Farm Stand season! Our Youth Farm Stand opens Saturday\, June 6th from 10am to 2pm and runs through October. \nEvery Saturday (except for July 4th)\, visit the Youth Farm at 34596 Seavey Loop Road from 10am to 2pm for the freshest organically grown vegetables\, berries\, and flowers. In June we’ll have about 20 crops including strawberries\, leafy greens\, and root veggies. Later in the summer\, the Farm Stand will sell flowers\, tomatoes\, cucumbers\, peppers\, melons\, and more… all grown right there on the Youth Farm. All proceeds support programming that provides skill-building opportunities and work experience for teens and adults.
