Our History
In 1984, FOOD for Lane County incorporated with one staff person, one volunteer, and five board members. That year, the fledgling food bank distributed almost 2 million pounds of food - mostly USDA commodities – out of a small house in Springfield. The food bank served 43,000 Lane County residents that year.
